The Decatur Music Teachers Association was founded in 1947, and is affiliated with the Music Teachers National Association, Inc. (MTNA) and with the Georgia Music Teachers Association, Inc. (GMTA).

The goal of the DMTA is to advance musical knowledge and training in the community for educational, charitable and scientific purposes. It functions in a not-for-profit context and features members from around the Decatur and greater Atlanta areas in Georgia.  We hold several events each year with the goal of enriching the community and our students’ lives through quality music education.
